The story of how Tasty Bowls Southampton grew from a passion project to Southampton's favorite African cuisine destination.
Tasty Bowls began as a small home-based catering service founded by Mrs Toju Jack. Born and raised in Nigeria, Toju wanted to share the authentic flavors of her homeland with the Southampton community.
Using family recipes passed down through generations, she started by catering small gatherings and community events. Word quickly spread about the delicious, authentic African dishes being served.
What started as weekend catering soon grew into a full-time passion as more and more people discovered the rich, vibrant flavors of Toju's cooking.
With growing demand, Toju partnered with her loving and supportive husband Mr Jack, an experienced business manager and serial entreprenuer, to expand Tasty Bowls into a full-service catering company.
They moved into a commercial kitchen space and began catering larger events, including corporate functions, weddings, and community festivals. The team grew to include additional chefs and service staff.
During this period, Tasty Bowls developed its signature menu items, including the now-famous Jollof Rice and Grilled Chicken that has become a customer favorite.
Due to high demands for our cooked meals, Tasty Bowls quickly adapted by pivoting to a delivery-focused model. They developed their signature "bowl" concept, offering complete meals in convenient, eco-friendly packaging.
This period of challenge became an opportunity for innovation. The team developed an online ordering system and expanded their delivery radius to reach more customers throughout Southampton.
Despite the difficulties faced by the hospitality industry, Tasty Bowls not only survived but thrived, as people sought comfort in delicious, authentic food delivered to their homes.
Today, Tasty Bowls Southampton has established itself as the premier destination for authentic African cuisine in the region.
The team has grown to include specialized chefs, delivery staff, and customer service representatives, all dedicated to providing exceptional food and service.
